Andy
was an early starter, competing on his first stage rally (1989)
whilst still at school (and before he had even taken his driving
test). In his first year he gained enough experience to compete
in the formidable GpB Metro 6R4, and 6 months later, his first
international rally abroad (funded by washing up in a restaurant).
Shortly
after completing his mechanical engineering HND in 1991 he achieved
his first outright victory, in a Metro 6R4. He had just begun
employment in Logistics at Rover Group, a discipline which complemented
a co-drivers skills very well. |

During
his 8 years with Rover he began competing on World Rally Championship
events and internationals all over Europe. He achieved 4th overall
co-driver in the 1992 Peugeot Challenge and won the Rallye Du
Limousin round with Andrew Smith. In those days the challenge
would regularly receive over 50 entries per rally.
More
and more rallies followed culminating with a championship win
on the 1998 BTRDA Gold Star Championship with Adam Kent. This
was all the more satisfying as the rallies did not allow pace
notes and were run on maps - the true test of a navigator.By January
1999 Andy had completed a part-time MSc in Engineer Business Management
at Warwick University and left Rover Group to concentrate on his
rallying career. His customer base already included Ford Motorsport.Manufacturer
entries with Ford and Skoda on WRC events followed, with additional
WRC and European rally outings. Roadbook and logistics work continued
for customers including The MSA, Prodrive, Peugeot and Silverstone
Circuits. |

Foot
& Mouth disease in 2001 had quite an impact on Andy's career
and he took some work in an audio/video business, working for
one of his old drivers.
Since
then, both the audio/video business and Andy's motorsport work
have continued to grow. |
